Jehle Coaching Blog - What I’m thinking and doing (what’s new)…
What was I scared of and other success stories
We all have fears, and fear is normal. We are made to have fear so we run away from imminent danger.
But sometimes our fear goes “sideways” and comes out in the “wrong place.
Sometimes we are afraid of the wrong things.
Sometimes fear overwhelms and gets us in a stuck place.
Clear thinking for good decisions, with a personal story
Avoid awfulizing, us vs. them, and scarcity mindset thinking when making decisions to be successful.
Thoughts on Decision Making
Are you trying to make a decision about something and just can’t get past some of the “ish” factors? Or are you talking yourself into something that maybe you (or your trusted network) might not feel so right about- maybe you are wanting to just get that first deal? ALSO: Loss aversion can derail our plans, our business, our life. It makes us focus too much on the short-term and not the long-term. We tend to give up on things that we see as loss to us especially when we apply great meaning to that thing, whatever it might be. We need to remember to always think long-term.
Feedback is Hard AND very GOOD for us
When we are dealing with feedback you can either take it seriously and try to change or you can blame “the circumstances beyond your control” and avoid doing anything.
Sometimes, granted, the circumstances are beyond our control: covid, lockdowns, shifts in market demand are all beyond our control. But how we respond to them is pretty much under our control.
Decision-making help, Part 2
When we make good choices, we want to be aware of our biases and think more clearly. Here are ideas to make better decisions:

Are you learning and change -ready? We all can learn and change!
We all are learning beings.
Life is all about learning. As a child we learn to speak and walk and soon enough we are running and chatting away… The main idea is to be open to feedback and even criticism, looking for even wee grains of truth. We all have something to learn. Let us keep on learning, even if we think “I know this”.

What does it take to be a great coach?
What characteristics are needed to be a good coach? Authority, Authenticity, Integrity and Empathy.
Authority: Are you “able to do the job well”?
Authenticity, Integrity, Empathy: This begins with personal-awareness skills: self-awareness, self-management, and knowing that your own reactions are part of the method of coaching (and supervision). You as the coach are the most powerful “tool” and intervention.
Update - and Happy Easter!
I now have two more certifications, including the Cerny Smith Assessment Coach. Life is about learning and growing. Here is my latest update.
Who can you trust, part 2
The four qualities, AUTHENTICITY, INTEGRITY, AUTHORITY, and EMPATHY are key in making decisions when to hire someone, when to partner with someone and when, in my view, to add someone to your very small “close friend” or personal partner list.
Trust is KEY
Trust needs to be given with eyes wide open, well-earned, and vetted in partnerships and other business relationships.
You can change. What do you want to change
You can change your life, your work, your company. It’s a challenge and it’s possible to change.
Meeting Thoughts- and etiquette
When you work online, meetings can be more difficult, so here are suggestions for etiquette, active listening to make the meeting more productive
Dealing with your COVID trauma and grief
What can you do with your covid grief and trauma? Try journaling.
Are you an Entrepreneur, my family is! Here are some suggestions
When you start a business you need to consider all the scenarios, both positive and negative and have plans so you can succeed.
COVID Trauma
Is COVID causing trauma for you? Are you easily triggered or often moody or irritated? Are you constantly anxious or worrying? Is your time management so out of whack that you are not taking time to have fun, or even to take care of yourself? Are you easily overwhelmed, much more easily than a year ago? Are you catching more colds than normal and getting multiple covid tests, just to “make sure”? Are you getting addicted to something: gaming, shopping, social-media, alcohol, etc.?
Triggers are key to Personal Growth
Emotional and Mental triggers need to be noticed, reflected on to find the source, and then a plan should be made to help dilute the triggers and try to avoid responding. This is part of a growth-mindset.
Be wise – take feedback and change
When we get feedback we can be wise and try to change or we can be foolish and blame someone or something else to avoid change. It’s our choice of response.
