A way to slow down the emotional rollercoaster

The sky is the limit

Or maybe not-

Or maybe you feel it is one moment and then the opposite the next.

Maybe you are vacillating between great hope and a bit of fear - or even despair.

The roller coaster of feelings is normal at this time - and you should notice and not repress your emotions, if you want to move forward.  If you repress you emotions, they will come out in another way, most likely blind siding you. Below is a way to help you out of the roller coaster ride.

Let’s do a little thinking exercise to keep that positive emotion going more:

·      First, think about how you are feeling- start with the joy or hope

·      Then think about where you feel the feeling in your body.

·      How does that feeling feel in your body?

·      Stay with the feeling for a while.

·      Why do you feel this way?  What triggered the feeling?

·      Then think about the negative counterpart emotion.  How are you feeling? Name it.

·      Then think about where you feel the feeling in your body.

·      Notice the change in your body from before when you had the positive feeling.

·      How does that feeling feel in your body?

·      Stay with the feeling for a while.

·      Why do you feel this way?  What triggered that feeling?

·      Then move back to the positive feeling again and notice the change in your body, once more.

Then REFLECT:  How can I have more of the positive feeling?  What can I do today to be more joyful? More hopeful? More grateful?

Then do the one thing.  If possible do that one thing for a week or two- or three or four.

Tell me what happens.

Have a great week,
